Offshore Oscillating Monitors – Delta DF4500
Delta’s range of Offshore Oscillating Monitors are water powered units that can be supplied with either a 3″ or 4″ ASA 150lb FF stainless steel inlet flange connection dependent upon individual customer requirements. These units are used to oscillate the waterway axially by means of a stream of water that shoots against a brass pelton wheel. Oscillating at a speed of 5½ cycles per minute (adjustable) these units boast an oscillating arc of up to 125º (adjustable). With a 3″ stainless steel waterway and stainless steel cover assembly Delta’s Offshore Oscillating Monitors are fully marinised for harsh environment applications.
The 3″ Offshore Oscillating Monitor has a flow rate of between 950 and 4740 litres per minute compared to the 4″ version that flows at between 5678 and 11355 litres per minute. The Oscillator units are fitted with the Delta DF4500 lever operated Station Monitors providing 360º rotation and 150º elevation via stainless steel rotation bearings and locking sleeves. A choice of Monitor Nozzles can be fitted to the DF4500 to suit customer requirements including self-inducing options.
Both the Oscillator and Monitor waterways are supplied in a durable red painted finish as pictured. There is also a tapping available to attach a ¾ or 1″ hose line to allow for testing of the Oscillator unit without the need to fire the monitor.
Delta’s range of offshore Oscillating Monitors are widely used by many global operators and commonly used for the protection of helicopter landing areas on platforms, drilling rigs and vessels. Commonly, they form an integral part of a foam ‘skid’ or integrated fire system.
As with all Delta products, pre-delivery testing is very rigorous in line with their ISO9001 Management Standard and dedicated on-site full scale test facilities are used to ensure operational excellence prior to dispatch.
