Foam Systems – On-Shore
Delta Fire provide an extremely comprehensive service when it comes to On-Shore Foam Systems. The majority of systems are manufactured to an individual specification directive from the client to achieve the desired end result.
Delta Fire’s technical team have an accumulation of many years experience in design and engineering of Fixed Foam Systems and the service schedule starts with the initial design and provision of schematic drawings. This is followed by a detailed process of calculations in respect of pressures, flows, component requirements and induction etc.
The manufacturing stage involves state-of-the art CNC machining and on-site engineering by industry professionals to ensure that the design criteria and operational calculations are achieved with accuracy.
Logistical support is available for the transportaion and ultimate installation of the foam system and Delta’s Technical advisers provide a comprehensive back-up service post installation.
The Delta On-Shore foam systems are used in a number of applications and designed to meet the specific demands required by Delta’s customers.
Bund (or diked) protection is an important area. The bund is a liquid containment facility that prevents leaks and spillage from pipes or tanks. Frequently, the liquids in the tanks and pipes are toxic or inflammable and it is a requirement to install an effective fire protection foam system to protect the bunded area. Delta’s fixed Bund Pourers are integrated into the foam system to provide a swift covering of medium expansion foam in the suppression of toxic vapours or fire. Tank Farms involved in fuel storage or chemical liquids are protected with a fixed foam system utilising Delta foam top pourers and floating roof tank protection is provided by a Rimseal foam pourer system.
Industrial warehousing foam systems are available and commonly used in Airports and other large, highly populated buildings where there is a severe danger of multiple injury. These are generally the integration of a foam proportioning system, high expansion foam concentrate and high expansion foam generators as depicted in the picture above. The typical proportioning system involves a bladder tank, a ratio controller, the concentrate and the hi-ex generator. A Foam Sprinkler System is another option which incorporates the DFS 100 Foam Sprinklers to provide an impressive spray radius of almost 2 metres at a 4 – 6m installation height at 2.0 bar pressure.
Another key area benefitting from Delta’s On-Shore foam systems are Heli-ports. Any landing site is a potential fire hazard and should be protected as comprehensively as possible. Foam systems utilising fixed foam monitors (station monitors) are commonly installed allowing for fast deployment of foam and enhanced fire suppression.
