Suction Hoses, Baskets & Strainers
Suction Hose is used by many different sectors for the drafting of water from a water source. In respect of UK Fire and Rescue Services suction hose is used to suck water, via the Appliance pump, from an unpressurised supply such as a portable water tank, pool or other static water source where the drawing of water from a pressurised supply such as a fire hydrant is not possible. Built to withstand ‘vacuum’ rather than ‘pressure’, Delta’s Fire Brigade Suction Hose is grey in colour and manufactured from a PVC tube and cover with a rigid PVC spiral for rigidity and vacuum resistance.
Conforming fully to JCDD/2 1975 Delta’s suction hose has resilience to temperatures between -15° and +65º and is designed to be extremely durable providing extended service life. Commonly, pre-assembled hoses fitted with BSRT couplings are supplied to fulfil standard Brigade requirements. Generally the 8′ (2.44m) x 4″ assemblies are preferred but a wide range of lengths are available as shown below, either as assemblies or as ‘hose only’.
Also available from Delta is ‘Medium Duty’, ‘Heavy Duty’, ‘Extra Flexible’, ‘Oil Suction’, ‘Clear Wired’, ‘Food Quality’ and ‘Marine Sanitation’ suction hoses.
To complement the range of suction hoses Delta also supply suction baskets and strainers, BSRT Couplings, Adaptors, Female Blank Caps and Male Blank Plugs. Other, non-standard, couplings and adaptors are available upon request.
