FAQs

Delta Fire Self Inducing Monitor Nozzles are specialist foam capable monitor nozzles designed to draw foam concentrate directly from a drum or tank without the need for a separate foam proportioning system. They are used on both portable and fixed fire monitors and come in light alloy or marine bronze construction for industrial and marine environments.

They operate using a built in induction system. As water flows through the nozzle, a venturi effect creates suction which draws foam concentrate through a pick up tube directly into the water stream. The foam is then mixed internally and discharged as finished foam through the monitor.

The main advantage is simplicity and rapid deployment. They remove the need for external foam proportioning equipment, making them ideal for mobile or emergency foam applications. They also allow direct pickup from standard foam drums or tanks, which reduces setup time and increases operational flexibility on incident ground or industrial sites.

Foam concentration depends on the model and flow setting, but they are designed to produce accurate induction ratios typically used in firefighting applications such as Class B hydrocarbon foams (commonly 3 percent or 6 percent depending on foam concentrate specification). The nozzle is pre set or calibrated to ensure correct induction rate for reliable foam quality during operation.
