It is widely recognised that one of the greatest dangers facing fire crews when dealing with High Rise fires is the effect of wind. Once the windows have gone, the wind will enhance the fire and rapidly increase the temperature making it virtually impossible to enter the room from an adjacent corridor or landing.
The Delta Floor Below Nozzle is a UK manufactured specialist high rise firefighting nozzle designed to cool and suppress fires in upper level rooms from the floor below. It is specifically engineered for situations where direct entry into a fire compartment is not safe due to extreme heat, wind driven fire, or flashover risk.
The nozzle features a long angled barrel that is positioned through a lower level window and directed upwards into the fire compartment above. It projects a solid jet of water onto the ceiling area, rapidly cooling hot gases and reducing internal temperatures before firefighters enter the room. In trials it has been shown to reduce extreme internal temperatures significantly in seconds without crew entry.
The main benefit is firefighter safety through remote gas cooling. It allows rapid temperature reduction in high rise fire conditions, particularly in wind affected compartments where fire intensity and heat build up can prevent safe entry. It improves survivability conditions, reduces flashover risk, and enables safer and faster tactical entry for fire crews.
The Floor Below Nozzle is supplied with standard 2.5 inch inlet options, typically Instantaneous male or BSP threaded fittings depending on specification, allowing compatibility with standard fire service hose systems.

Fantastic equipment and customer service. Would high recommend Delta Fire to any company looking for fire service equipment. After doing a lot of market research, I found and contacted Delta Fire to get more information about their equipment. Any questions I had where answered, they helped me look at my company's needs and pick which products where best suited. Extremely helpful.
